Will Bratz Dolls Be The Next Reigning Fashion Doll?

The Bratz dolls are known as the “girls with a passion for fashion,” and they truly are! With their fresh and funky clothes, fun makeup, and assortment of shoes, Bratz Dolls are giving Barbie a run for her money as the number one fashion doll.

Bratz dolls exploded onto the scene in June 2001, and by 2002 won the People’s Choice Toy of the Year Award. Created for ‘tweens, a group thought to have little interest in dolls, Bratz are some of the hottest dolls around. Considered by some to be the “anti-Barbie”, Bratz owe their popularity, at least in part, to looking extremely different from anything Barbie has ever done, but still being very fashionable.

With large luminous eyes and pouty lips, the Bratz dolls look is based on Japan animation (anime), another hot look with teens. With edgy clothes like platform boots, miniskirts and tube tops, Bratz push the envelope of doll clothes style. And that is why they’re so popular and so much fun.

A collector edition of Cloe Bratz dolls has already been released. Collectible Cloe is over two feet tall, has elaborately detailed clothes, and comes with a fashion belt that transforms into a beauty bracelet for her owner.

The Bratz dolls includes “Angel” Cloe, “Sugar Shoes” Dana, “Kool Kat” Jade, “Bunny Boo” Sasha, “Pretty Princess” Yasmin, “Fragrance” Fianna, “Queen B” Nevra, and “Funky Fashion Monkey” Meygan. They come with a great variety of fun and contemporary accessories.

The Bratz dolls have there own Bratz Pad, a functional three-story apartment; Flashback Fever Retro Ride van, complete with a jacuzzi and smoothie bar; Tokyo A Go-Go Sushi Lounge, with karaoke stage and mic stand; and Wintertime Ski Lodge which includes a ski slope, snow-making machine, ski lift, and a two-story ski lodge with balcony, are just a sampling of the over-the-top Bratz accessories available.

Of course,  Bratz dolls wouldn’t be a Bratz without the clothes. There are an incredible selection of fashionable clothes, with a twist, to choose from. Most clothes come in great sets, such as Flashback Fever, a set of clothes from the mod ‘60's, the groovilicious ‘70's, and the awesome ‘80's. For glamorous events there’s even a Formal Funk collection, which has cool formal dresses, a mannequin to hang the clothes on, and even an after-party outfit.

Bratz dolls don’t stop with just the Bratz girls. There are Bratz Boys, Lil Bratz, and Bratz Petz. Lil Bratz are even taking on Polly Pocket as the most popular miniature doll!

When a doll is this popular there has to be corresponding accessories for real girls, and Bratz dolls are no exception. Only in this case the accessories are fun and edgy. There’s an Electric Funk Groove-Tube TV, a Livin’ Bratz Beauty Bed Canopy, and a Bratz Sports Funky Fresh Foldable Scooter, just to name a few.

No wonder the Bratz dolls have taken over and are poised to be the next reigning fashion doll.
