How Gas Powered Remote Control Cars Work
Gas powered remote control cars are greatly becoming one of the
fastest growing hobbies in the world, and is enjoyed by people of
all ages and countries. There are many reasons for this
phenomenon but some of the main ones include: able to reach high
speeds (at times up to 45 mph) with some models, gas powered remote
control cars are easily tuneable, from which you can add or replace
various parts and accessories to your vehicle and finally they are
very durable and can withstand very rough racing terrain.
Another excellent reason why more and more people are turning to
these high speed vehicles is their ability to race them with other
people from all over. There are hobby clubs and people from
all over the world who will get together to race their high
performance car on specially made tracks.
Some of the amazing features that come with gas powered remote
control cars include:
- They contain real working nitro engines that contain fast
electric motors.
- They run with high voltage batteries and variable electronic
speed controls.
- Each car uses special nitro fuel, with high power nitro
engines. They feature tuned exhaust pipes, fuel tanks, and air
filters just like their real life counterpart.
- Contain changeable gearing and smooth differentials similar
to the full sized vehicle.
- Adjustable suspensions with oil filled shocks and springs.
To run any gas powered remote control cars, you will need a nitro
engine, radio control and nitro fuel. You will also need various
accessories to be able to start the engine. Your main choices
in starting the engine are a pull start nitro engine that uses a
mechanism that is similar to a lawn mower. You can also choose
a non-pull nitro engine that you have to fire up with a starter kit.
The pull start nitro engines cost a little more then the non-pull
ones do. The advantage to a pull start is that you won't have
to purchase a starter box, and there will be less amount of accessories
to carry around when going off to a race. All you need to do
is to pull on the starter and your off to the races. A starter
box can save the extra weight of the pull starter from which
starting may be a little easier. The most widely used starter
is the pull-start version. You can always upgrade to a starter box
later on.
One of the most important things to perform on gas powered remote
control cars is to tune the engine at regular intervals. Its
not a secret that the nitro engine is the heart and soul of any remote
control car, and it only makes sense to make sure that the engine is
up and running to peak performance. This in the end will make
everything a lot easier on that big race day. To tune any
nitro engine, it is important to follow the instructions that came
with the car. They usually request a slow break in period
after first purchasing the car. This will involve the needles
set to allow more fuel to keep the engine running cooler than normal
race conditions. If you purchase a ready to run (RTR) version
then the factory settings are ready to go.
