For Collecting, For Fun, You Can’t Beat Madame Alexander Dolls
Madame Alexander Dolls has a history that dates back over 80 years
ago. The Alexander Doll company was founded by Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman. Raised in the first doll hospital in America, run by her father, Madame
Alexander fell in love with dolls. Naturally, this led to the creation of her very own
line of dolls known today as Madame Alexander Dolls.
Madame Alexander accomplished a number of firsts in the doll industry. She was the first to produce a doll based
on a licensed character, the first to introduce feature baby dolls, and the first to create dolls
in honor of living people. Another remarkable first was her introduction of the first full
figured fashion doll with haute couture clothing. Madame Alexander dolls are known world-wide
for their high quality and attention to detail.
This year alone Madame Alexander Dolls received several awards for their dolls. Wooden Wendy
was recognized for innovation in design, being a wooden doll with nine points of
articulation; and Olivia Saves the Circus set of dolls were honored with the prestigious
Platinum Seal from the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio.
There are a full line of Madame Alexander dolls: collectible dolls, baby dolls and play
dolls. New releases from Madame Alexander this year include Harriet the Spy, Olivia Goes
to School, My Three Little Kittens, Wendy Ann Felt, and Olivia and the Missing Toy Set,
just to name a few. There’s always something new and exciting coming from
Alexander Dolls.
