Muppets find a new home with Disney

Jim Henson had always believed that Disney would be a great home for his Muppets. It is reported that Disney has purchased Jim Henson's Muppets and Bear. It is a three year production deal to develop movies and television shows. The Jim Henson Company will also provide consulting on how to use the characters. The deal includes all characters such as Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, as well as Animal characters. Also included in the deal are the Muppet film and television library and all associated copyrights and trademarks as well as the bear in the Big Blue House characters. The transaction does not include the Sesame Street characters, such as Big Bird, and Elmo.

The Muppets world can only get better with their new home at Disney, with the hope of developing some new and entertaining characters. Today their is a long list of excellent figures available online:

Muppets Series 5 6" Figure: Gonzo with Camilla - features the great Gonzo with his classic purple tuxedo, as well as his lady chicken friend Camilla. He is sculpted very well with accurate texturing to match the puppet, with 12 points of articulation. Also comes with a box of chocolates that opens up and a horn from Gonzo's trademark.

Muppets Series 4 6" Figure: Sam the Eagle - features Mr. Sam the Arrow from Treasure Island. Its a great size toy with excellent detail, and there are a number of accessories included. He carries a Map to Treasure Island, a telescope, removable hat, a key, an authentic looking bible, and an excellent spy glass that actually folds and unfolds.

Muppets Series 5 6" Figure: Muppet Newsman - he comes with removable glasses, a desk, multi-tv screen backdrop, with images that you can stick on the screens, and a really cool red telephone. The detail and accuracy is excellent, and the poses are fun to set up with other figures that you may own.

Muppets Party Cruise (PlayStation 2) - set sail with all the characters for some fun and adventure. Join Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal and the rest of the group on a crazy cruise where the action never stops.
