PSP Movies – PSP Goes Beyond Just Gaming Capabilities
Sony says that the Playstation Portable is first and foremost a gaming console. But they also
claim that it can perform many more functions such as display full featured
PSP movies. It has
truly been labeled an integrated portable entertainment system. There is no doubt that the
Sony PSP is
a top of the line portable gaming device that features unparalleled graphics. Sony has put together
an excellent set of launch titles from various gaming developers.
If we step beyond the PSP’s gaming features, you will find an amazing display of graphics that has
ever been designed in a portable gaming unit. But wait it’s not just for games. You can also watch
full length movies, and the Sony PSP pictures and color are nothing short of amazing.
The display console is a 4.3” TFT LCD with a 480 x 272 pixel resolution and 16.77 million colors.
It features superior picture quality from a UMD movie and even surpasses what you would see on a
portable DVD player.
Right now you can only watch Sony UMD videos and movies on the PSP console and the UMD disc is not a recordable
storage format. You will have to store your videos, photos or music on a Sony Memory Stick Duo card.
Also unlike DVD’s, UMD’s do not come loaded with extra features such as commentaries or additional
clips. But the movie line up is very impressive to say the least. You can find quality movies
such as: “Spiderman 2”, “I, Robot”, “Dodgeball”, “Alien vs Predator” and more.
