Sony Playstation Portable – State-Of-The-Art Handheld Gaming
The new Sony Playstation Portable is the next generation in portable gaming. The new PSP has
a stunning look with shiny, black and clear acrylic buttons. It is capable of playing games, music
and movies and is available at an extremely affordable price. Many Playstation PSP reviews are raving
over the innovative features that are offered by this gaming device.

PSP Display
When taking your new Sony PSP out of the box, the first thing you will notice is the large LCD display.
The new PSP screen is 4.3 inches in size and has a 480 x 272 pixel TFT LCD screen resolution.
The display features vibrant bright colors when playing games or viewing movies. The majority of
gamers have all agreed that the screen looks superb and is striking.
The playstation portable comes with a special gray chamois cloth that will allow you to wipe any fingerprints
from the LCD screen after playing a game or watching a movie.
The Sony Playstation portable is also great for viewing still photos. You can easily get your JPEG images onto the Memory Stick Duo by using any card reader. The photos look
stunning and you can view them one at a time, or as a slide show.
Slick Exciting Game Play
Some of the video games that may be shipped with your unit may include: Wipeout Pure, Gretsky Hockey, Twisted Metal Head On, NBA, and World Tour Soccer. You will find that the
processing power is very smooth and that there are no pauses during gameplay.
The Sony PSP comes with an analog stick on its face that makes a number of games more playable than
they would be with the directional pad alone.
PSP Storage
Playstation portable includes a proprietary media called a Universal Media Disc (UMD). The
disc is a 2 ¼ inch optical disc that offers 1.8 GB of capacity and comes mounted inside a plastic
cartridge. The disc is large enough to store your favorite games and movies.
Wireless Capabilities
Another great feature of the
Sony Playstation Portable is its wireless capabilities. It is the first
handheld gaming device to support Wi-Fi right out of the box. Currently the Wi-Fi functionality
is usable only for downloading firmware updates or for multiplayer games. You are still not
able to browse the internet or message friends. It is also very easy to set up the PSP to work
with your home network. The entire setup will take you no more than 2 minutes.
In summary, the success of the PSP handheld device will depend a lot on the quality of games
that you will be able to buy for your unit. So far the 2005 PSP game lineup has proven to offer a
superb set of games.
