Star Trek Games and computers go hand-in-hand. The original
Star Trek computer games were not
that interesting or exciting, but as time went on they have become one of the best action games out
there. The truth is that most of the video games produced do have something worthwhile to offer the
diehard gamer.

- Birth Of The Federation – this game has an excellent representation of the different
races from the aggressive Klingons, to the sneaky Ferengi, to the warlike Federation.
- StarFleet Command III – this is a tactical starship simulator from Interplay and developer
Taldren. It was based on the Star Fleet Battles board game and was a
moderate success among strategy games out there. The biggest
difference from previous editions was a change in the settings from
classic Star Trek to the Next Generation. The new settings features
a host of weapons,
ships and technology that is brand new, as well as a significant
change to the races. There are
four core races: Klingons, Romulans, Borg and the Federation.
- Bridge Commander – in this Star Trek Game the battles are slower paced tactical contests in
which success doesn’t necessarily depend on lining up targets for your ships forward guns. The
combat resembles the battles similar to the movies and TV series such as “The Wrath of Khan”.
While playing in single-player mode you get the perspective of the captain’s chair on the bridge.
You can also move the mouse to look around at various crew members and bring up command menus at
each crew member’s station.
- Voyager Elite Force – this game has both a single player and multiplayer mode. It is based
on the most recent Star Trek TV Series. Star Trek Fans will love the single-player mode as it
puts the Voyager crew against the Borg menace, the Klingon scavengers and other sinister forces.
