Super Nintendo Roms – Making Video Game History
The bar for video game designers had been raised back in 1991, when the
Super Nintendo
Entertainment System came out. It had featured many capabilities such as scrolling backgrounds,
true stereo sound, and double the internal memory as its competition had. This video game console
also produced a number of super nintendo roms and became home to the best interactive games of its
day. Super Nintendo sold well over 20 million systems in the U.S. and over 49 millions interactive
systems worldwide.
After Sega had unleashed their 16-bit Genesis system, Nintendo was in conflict because their
classic 8-bit Nintendo system was fading out. Nintendo came back and produced their own 16-bit system
with advanced graphic capabilities and a better audio chip then Sega Genesis had. They placed
themselves as the top entertainment system until the introduction of the Sony Playstation console
that came out in 1996.
The major item that made the Super Nintendo Entertainment System stand out over the rest was
its outstanding library of interactive games that they had produced. The first produced titles were excellent
and they had the best RPG’s to date then any other system.
There were a number of classic Super Nintendo games that are still played today that include:
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Donkey Kong Country
- Super Metroid
- Super Mario World
- Final Fantasy 3
- Yoshi’s Island
- Super Mario All-Stars
- Tetris Attack
- Super Mario RPG
- Contra 3
- Super Mario Kart
- Street Fighter 2 Turbo
- Chornotrigger
- Earthbound
The Super Nintendo Entertainment system is a piece of interactive video game history and cannot be overlooked.
